Elaine Appleton Grant

Elaine Appleton Grant is a podcast producer, public radio broadcaster, magazine journalist, and TEDx speaker. She has worked at Boston’s WBUR, New Hampshire Public Radio, and Colorado Public Radio, where she led the team producing Colorado Matters. Her work has appeared in hundreds of outlets, including Inc., Fast Company, and on NPR. She writes and produces Business Wars Daily, a Wondery podcast about corporate rivalries hosted by David Brown. It recently surpassed 500 episodes and has been downloaded more than six million times. She helps mission-driven organizations develop public radio-quality podcasts.

As a speaker and workshop facilitator, Elaine shows audience members how to reinvent themselves and how to help their employees and teammates do so. She draws on her experience hosting One More Shot, a podcast about people who are reinventing their personal, professional or creative lives, to give the audience proven strategies for overcoming challenging but predictable obstacles to change – whether it’s change they are seeking or change that is thrust upon them. She also draws on decades of experience as a journalist covering entrepreneurship and business to show corporate audiences why helping their people learn continuous reinvention is the most important task facing leaders today.

Elaine also has deep experience covering and working with purpose-driven organizations. She’s deeply interested in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and racial and social justice. Her TEDx talk tells the story of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, and how learning about the conspiracy of silence around this tragedy transformed the most important relationship in her life – and why exposing the untold stories about race in America has the power to heal our personal and work relationships, our communities, and our divided nation.
